Overview
At Christie’s, I’ve been leading the App team on bringing user focused features and an injection of newness to the app platform. Our primary objective has been to overhaul the existing transactional journey from end to end, starting with discovery being a primary user focus, and ending with a bid being placed.
Since 2022, we've worked toward a fully native iOS app that changes the way users navigate and discover new items, allowing a more flexible interface for user activity -  following items and auctions, and having a holistic environment for these to live, has been one of the defining launches of the past few years.

We've now released a discovery based explore hub, an all-new auction calendar, a 'buy now' private sales journey and a fully overhauled 'my account', as well as a brand new account creation flow, product detail page, FAQ section and much more.
Explore & Discover
At the beginning of our journey to make the Christie's iOS app a fully native platform, we created the Explore hub - a place of discovery that tied together the key touchpoints of the brand.
After extensive research, client interviews, benchmarking sessions and internal workshops, we distinguished key user patterns that we wanted to celebrate and draw attention to - like being able to jump straight into an auction, or seeing what's trending between art collectors and enthusiasts.

The result was a highly navigable, discovery focused page that increased auction and PDP visits, as well as shining a light on private sale items that would have otherwise been missed.
The Auction Calendar
The Christie's Calendar is a page that acts as a gateway to the magic of the auction world. We tackled an abundance of scenarios and feedback to understand how to accomodate different types of user - from hardened collectors to the one-off fan.

To make a user's journey more efficient, regardless of their experience within the platform, we created quick actions such as long press (tap + hold) to give them opportunities to add auctions to a native calendar, or follow an auction to be notified on its start time or its results. As a V2 option, we also created a dynamic month-to-month calendar to mimic patterns users were comfortable with, allowing greater control on how many auctions they could view in a selected timeframe.
