Hosted in our New York galleries, Christie’s Art+Tech Summit is an annual two-day conference bringing together creators, collectors, industry leaders and more, continuing Christie's commitment to lead the dialogue about the role and impact of technologies in the art world.
In collaboration with Gucci and Moonpay, the latest event was held in the Rockefeller centre in New York.
The creative driving the brand was one of visual expression, in an attempt to transcend the established identity and values of Christie's. Our aim was to craft a dynamic identity capable of organically adapting to the latest art movements and trends, including Christie's foray into digital art, NFTs, and hybrid art pieces.
In the initial stages, I conducted comprehensive visual research, assembling mood boards to explore the potential shapes, motifs, and vibrant palettes that could inform the brand's new direction. From here, I created themes to contextually link these ideas back to Christie's, and their place within the values and vision they held amongst the leaders of the brand.
Brand evolution
The result was a decision to move to a new typeset, colour scheme and motif, to entice industry leaders from forward thinking industries and challenge the public's perception of Christie's as a traditional, historic brand.
The brand in situ
From here, we expanded the brand to include motion elements, further strengthening the ties to a more vibrant and digitally minded visual aesthetic that could sit parallel to Christie's. We used the colours and typeset to create a ambient space that could be used in a mulitude of ways, both on-screen and in a physical setting.
